One might be forgiven for thinking that this is just a gratuitous post to remind myself that I still have a blog. Nonetheless, this image from Dungeon Module A2 Secret of the Slavers Stockade frontispiece [there's a 28% chance I'm using that word correctly]:
Does it now remind you of a more sinister version of this guy:
What are the odds that Ben Edlund rolled a 20-sider in his day; pretty good, right?
Or perhaps Wolveroach...
ReplyDeleteFirst off, 100% that Ben Edlund, last heard working for Joss Whedon on buffy, etc, played D&D:

and much more importantly, have you snagged your copy of Temple of Elemental Evil from Goodman games? Lots of great stuff in there, like who played Rufus, etc. I want to hear your thoughts!!
Rick
Thanks for the post Rick. I have not snagged my copy of Goodman's Temple of Organizational Evil--mostly because my interest/loyalties do not extend beyond the moathouse so I'm assuming at least 75% of the work will be meaningless to me. But on your intell it seems imperative that I get off my ass and get it anyway.
ReplyDeleteok, Mister Ivory tower, let me ask you a question. on the first page of the map pamphlet for Temple, there is a path from Hommlet through the Gnarley Forest, and on to Nulb. it has three Here-Be-Evil skull icons. first one is the moathouse, last one is the temple? what is the middle/other one?
ReplyDeleteand yes, I am enjoying the book immensely. lord it takes me back, even tho we only made it into the temple a few times. most of my characters died in the Moathouse. Lareth the beautiful was not my friend.
I've smuggled the Goodman tomes into my alabaster edifice and I can now tell you with absolute certainty that the extraneous danger zone is... Cleveland.
ReplyDeleteI knew it. if it was Akron, there would be no skull....
